The Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team®
The Five Behaviours of a Cohesive Team is a team development programme from Wiley, grounded in Patrick Lencioni's renowned model outlined in his book The Five Dysfunctions of a Team .
The program is available in two formats to suit different organisational needs:
-
Team Development – designed for established, stable teams.
-
Personal Development – ideal for smaller or more dynamic teams with shifting membership.
Each version provides a tailored approach to building stronger, more effective teams.
What is the Five Behaviours® programme?
While DISC is an individual assessment tool, The Five Behaviours® programme is designed to assess and improve team performance.
It is available in two distinct formats to suit the different needs of organisations:
This version is ideal for established teams of five to 12 members who have been working together for at least six weeks. Team members assess how their team performs across the five key behaviours outlined in Patrick Lencioni’s model:
Trust, Conflict, Commitment, Accountability, and Results
Based on the results, the program identifies the three behaviours most in need of improvement. Your team can then focus on developing these areas – independently or with our support. After some time (typically a few months), your team can reassess progress using the same tool.
Importantly, the DISC model is integrated into the Team Development experience to help team members better understand each other’s communication styles and work more effectively together.
This format is best suited for organisations with teams that are smaller, more fluid, or where individuals work across multiple teams. Personal Development can be delivered to groups of up to 30 people in a single session.
Each participant receives a personalised profile highlighting their strengths and challenges as a team player, based on the Five Behaviors model. The profile concludes with a summary of key insights and encourages individuals to choose three behaviours to focus on for development.
While the tool can stand alone, it is especially powerful when combined with external facilitation or coaching.
